Erika Mahr’s Screen/Shroud series explores that which is partially hidden/seen, inviting viewers to question subject and material. Uncertainty as a form of participation lies at the heart of this work.
Mahr’s previous exhibitions include Screens and Shrouds at Launch F18 (New York); New Work by Erika Mahr at Susan B. Hilles Gallery (New Haven); and Drawing the Expanded Field at Clara Hatton Gallery (Fort Collins). She received her MFA from Hunter College, and her BFA from the University of Florida-Gainesville. Mahr lives and works in Queens.
