Jeremy Coleman Smith plays with our understanding of materials, offering a print of – or pattern for – a folded wood box. Box with Woodgrain #6 is Smith in his element: enigmatic and elegant.

His work combines printmaking and furniture in an investigation of objects and display. In 2011, he received an Outstanding Student Achievement Award from the International Sculpture Center, and a feature in Sculpture Magazine. Smith has exhibited in New York, New Jersey, and Illinois (Knockdown Center, Mana Contemporary, and Betty Rymer Gallery respectively).

Smith earned an MFA from New Jersey City University, and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He lives and works in Jersey City.
