Michael Vahrenwald’s The People’s Trust excavates the architecture of urban banks in America. His images speak to this country’s changing wealth, class, and power aesthetics. Here, he presents his series as a simulated “savings pass book.”
Vahrenwald’s work has shown at the Whitney Museum, Walker Art Center, Carnegie Museum of Art, and Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art. He has been featured in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, Dwell, Blindspot, and Art in America.
Vahrenwald received his MFA from Yale University and a BFA from Cooper Union. He lives and works in New York.
