The book doer of great deeds and the speaker of great words was created to accompany a group show of the same name, curated by Iris Williamson for Hap Gallery.
Williamson cofounded and curated the alternative gallery Dugg Dugg (Charlotte) and later, enter:gallery (New York). She curated exhibitions and arts events for Charlotte during the 2012 Democratic National Convention, and has served as Assistant Director at Freight + Volume Gallery (New York), as well as Associate Director and Curator at Hap Gallery (Portland, OR).
Iris Williamson earned an MA in Critical Theory + Creative Research from Pacific Northwest College of Art, and a BFA in Painting from the University of Florida-Gainesville. She lives and works in Portland, OR.
