Hap Gallery presents Remote Surface, an exhibition of selected works by interdisciplinary artists Jeremy Coleman Smith and Scott Wolniak, curated by Gabrielle Garland.
From Smith’s enormous printed construction of wood paneling to Wolniak’s large cut paper pieces installed directly onto Hap’s window façade, the works in Remote Surface play with variations on scale and technique. Smaller pieces in the exhibit explore ideas of interiority, domestic arrangement, and our understanding of found vs. made. Taken as a whole, Remote Surface can be viewed as both a total environment and a staging of intimate encounters.
